It is good for whoever being a decoy... either a monk at the back line everyone rush for... or a warrior purposely charge so far ahead from the group...
Don't underestimate this skill... but don't overestimate this skill either.

It's a different approach to a martyr monk.
MR/Draw conditions is pretty effective, but not amazing.

well, just wondering if im the only person who think this is one of the best pvp tanking skills out there : /
i love it, just cause almost every build other than monks has at least on condition and/or hex, and when i was doing random against a team with 2 necros and 1 mesmer, i had constant regen of at least 8 and energy regen of atleast 6

i've found this skill is really just good for the energy regen. I mean.. almost the only condidtions or hexs i see are Bleeding, burning, poisin, diseas or conjure phantasm..... so just +2 regen when they all take away 4 or more?

i think it would work great back then when draw conditions was spamable and melandrus helped a lot. probably with martyr, melandrus(using arcane mimicry of course) it would help monks a lot.

Yeah, this skill is great in PvP and sometimes (in mesmer/necro flooded areas) even PvE. I just HATE the recharge. I think A-net should reduce it so that with 12 W.S. you could have this on at all times. It's an elite...come on!

You can't combine this skill with martyr because both are elites :P
I sometimes use this skill in the arenas with my monk together with draw conditions. The more conditions the more you are healed.
If some warriors come after you and you are low at hp and have bleeding, poisoned, crippled, weakness and more on you. One mend ailment will usually heal you up to full hp while maintaining melandrus resilence.
Remember that this skill alone completely nullifies wither and malaise. Too bad that as a monk you will not be able to carry word of healing so your heals will be a little weaker but many times you can live with it.

I use it for running, when im not doing a droks run.. w/r all the way, 11 wilderness for storm chaser 17 seconds (keeps me running with sprint 13 sec all the time). When you get crippled, blinded, slowed, parasitic bonded, poisoned, bleeded and fragilitied... that is a very good counter you can keep spamming things, for your energy is unlimited (especially if you use storm chaser after/before)
Oh and I use "I will survive" too, for when melandru's is down..

Just A question, does this skill work like I will suvive does? In the way that when you cast it, you only gain the rgen from what you were suffering at the time of cast?
Or does it have to do with the conditions and hexes you are suffering at any moment, ie. cast resillience, and suffer from bleeding after, and then you gain the effect from resillience?

Melandru's Resillience updates continously. If new hexes or conditions are placed on you, it increases in effect, and if they end, you lose the benefit.

Another good way to do this is to have a Mo/R act as a decoy. If you have a monk on your team thats made for healing you can run up and let everyone spam their stuff on you while your team wipes them up.
I cant even remember how many times i was in Random Arenas and my whole team went for the monk, and he just stodd there...tanking better than any warrior. Even when i tried to call a new target they were like "attack the monk you noob!"
Attacking the monk and killing the monk, are very different situations.

Its a common problem in RA.
A Monk is a serious RA problem becuase a monk can sustain 3 other people pretty good, so everyone ganks them, but then all the monks do is selfheal (which is easy enough in good builds to ward off 3-4 people) - so monks become good dmg tanks while their team Owns your team...
Monks in RA aren't normally the basic Boon/Prot, but have alot of self survivability.
